Welcome to the Secret Garden South of Bobber's Mill Bridge in Nottingham

Welcome to Windmill Community Gardens, home of the Climate Friendly Gardeners Project.

We are a group of local people, who are nurturing a wonderful community garden in the heart of the city. You'll find us just South of Bobbersmill Bridge, on the allotment site at the South end of Ascot Road. The Gardens are a great place where anyone can come to find out more about growing their own food in a changing climate. We cater for all abilities and welcome any nationality or age group.

Why not come and join us?

Harvest, cook and eat - Somalian

We had a huge treat today at Windmill, as the local Somalian community helped us to have a taste of their wonderful cooking. We were joined by the lovely folk from Gateway to Nature, who helped with harvesting and cooking to create a potato and bean dish using Somalian spices and a fabulous salad, to go with chicken and rice which were brought by members of the local Somalian youth group.

Harvesting the beans
The weather also turned wonderfully warm so we had a delicious meal in perfect conditions. Even better, the blackberries are amazing this year, so we picked a huge bowl-full and had that with greek yoghurt. What a treat!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day work so well.

Potatoes! (Imagine it said with a Keith Lemon accent)

The Somalian community made sure we all got plenty of
lovely food.

Tucking in!

Tucking in, in the other direction!

The perfect end to a perfect meal
