Welcome to the Secret Garden South of Bobber's Mill Bridge in Nottingham

Welcome to Windmill Community Gardens, home of the Climate Friendly Gardeners Project.

We are a group of local people, who are nurturing a wonderful community garden in the heart of the city. You'll find us just South of Bobbersmill Bridge, on the allotment site at the South end of Ascot Road. The Gardens are a great place where anyone can come to find out more about growing their own food in a changing climate. We cater for all abilities and welcome any nationality or age group.

Why not come and join us?

It's Jamaican Food Day at Windmill!

We had our first open-event - Harvest, Cook and Eat at Windmill today, and we were delighted to sit down to a Jamaican-themed meal that had almost every ingredient picked on the allotment or a neighbouring one, apart from rice, dried fish, plantain and ackee.

Edgar - callaloo grower extraordinaire
Edgar - friend and callaloo-grower extraordinaire supplied his special greens, and we supplied the rest of the fresh food - onions, tomatoes, carrots, thyme, peppers and chillis. We also had our own berries for pudding. It was delicious!

Ray stirs the salt-fish and veg mixture

Hassan minces the thyme - an important
ingredient.
Pranav and Allen tucking in.

The Caribbean weather drove us into the shade!

Pudding!

On 15th August, we'll be holding another cook and eat session, so please feel free to join us - just let us know if you are coming so we can make sure we've got enough ingredients.
